What if you only had a year to live?

Imagine you only have one year to live. Each of us would act differently on this event. Most likely the first day or two we would be sort of depressed and spend the time thinking. But what follows is important...

It doesn’t matter whether it’s one week, one month or one year, each of us would make changes to our lives one way or another. But one week or one month would be a bit too short time to even think about money and business, thus our chosen time frame is one year.

We would want to do things, things we haven’t done before, do things differently, more, with other people or in other places. And this requires money. So if I had just one year to live, I would try to get the monies flowing. And I wouldn’t do it the same way I have been doing things so far. Because it’s too time consuming.

Now, it doesn’t really matter what I would do. It really doesn’t matter. It’s the question itself that is important here. And the most general answer would be that I’d take more risks, I’d try things I haven’t tried, I’d do things the way I’ve always wanted, but have not made it happen yet.

But why? Why wait til you just have one year to live to start the life you’ve always wanted? That’s the point here when asking this question. If you ask this question to yourself, think about it for a day (yes, that’s what I would suggest, take a break from everything else and think about it for a day) and if there’s many things you would do differently, then it’s time to start changing things. Now!

I’m not going to talk about asking out a woman or a man you’ve always liked but have not had the guts. Forget about that for now, you’d do that one way or another. But lets talk business. What would you do differently business-wise?

I bet you’d immidietly have some ideas. Immidietly you’d start calling or emailing people, you’d start gathering a group of people around you to get things done the fastest way possible. You’d take risks you wouldn’t have taken before. And most likely you’d achieve your goals, in a perfect way, in a perfect time frame. Because when you’re dying, it’s no time to wait for right moments, right ideas, or do anything slowly.

Take risks, do what you have always wanted, the way you’ve always wanted.

No specific ideas? I deliberately didn’t bring out any specific ideas. I brought out the question you should be asking from yourself. And I brought out the reasons why the question is important for your to ask yourself. So like NIKE says – Just do it!
