How would you solve a problem if money was no obstacle?

We often tend to tell ourselves that „if only we had” that much money or possibilities, oh then we could own the world and do the things the way we want to. Well, sometimes money is not an obstacle, even if you don’t have it, your mind is.

I’m sure you have some sort of defined problem to take from the back of your head when reading it. Or if you don’t, think of some. Imagine how you would solve it if you had all the resources you’d ever need, all the money, unlimited amounts of money to use. How would you solve your problem then?

[here’s supposed to be at least one empty A4 paper for you to write your problem and idea of solving it with unlimited money]

Now, as we all know, money isn’t everything. With bad ideas you can’t even do something well will unlimited resources. Ideas are needed, good ideas. So I bet your solution to your problem with unlimited resources was not just „I’d pay everyone a lot”...or if it was, I’d consider starting a job search, preferrably nothing related to creativity.

Well, I do hope you’re not on some job site by now. Because now you know how you would do it successfully with unlimited resources. As a next thing gather all the different ideas from your lengthy text and make a bulleted list of things you’d do. I’d suggest you replace the word money and specific mentions to it everywhere with something else (if you have the word somewhere at all). Eg. If you initially put down that you’d „pay everyone shitloads from the beginning” then you might consider changing it to something like „I’d make it worthile to everyone from the beginning” – this means that you don’t necessarily pay everyone anymore, but you might consider using other options of making it all worthwhile for everyone involved. Maybe it wasn’t the best example but I hope you get the point.

Now that you have your list, hopefully consisting of anywhere up to 5-10 different thoughts, it’s time to go on. Take 10-30 minutes to think of each of those thoughts. And think how you could achieve the intended results with LIMITED money. Note that you put down these thoughts when you thought you had unlimited capital. Now you need to think how you could do the same things you were to do with unlimited capital, with no or just a minor capital.

In many cases you’ll end this task with a conclusion that you don’t actually need unlimited resources and you can do the same things already now.
